Italian version

Cupra Marittima, a small friendly town of about 5000 inhabitants, is a famous tourist resort on the Marches coast which has been awarded the Blue Flag from 1997.
It is very important also from an architectural-historical and cultural point of view. It boasts, in fact, among other points of interest, a Roman and medieval archaeological area.
Worth visiting are: the Roman ruins, the castle of Marano (XII century), the ruins of St. Andrea (XI century), the church of St. Basso (XI century), the territorial museum, the "Didactic laboratory of ecology of the Quaternary", the marine dune, the permanent nativity scene and numerous churches.

In the summer of 2003 the Castle of St. Andrea was restored and transformed into a spectacular open air theatre.

In the spring of 2003, the splendid 15 km, coastal, cycling track which unites Cupra Marittima, Grottammare and San Benedetto del Tronto, was inaugurated.
